My journey began as an athlete throughout my upbringing, but it wasn't until I retired from gymnastics at 18 that I truly grasped the profound impact of sports and physical activity on my well-being. The abrupt shift from rigorous training to inactivity and poor dietary choices took a toll on my body and self-esteem.
This led me down a turbulent path of yo-yo dieting and erratic exercise routines. I'd start each week with an extreme, unbalanced diet and excessive workouts, only to end up breaking from the restrictive diet and binge eating. This cycle left me overwhelmed with guilt, convinced I was failing, and perpetually restarting the process.
